"Well done Jake! I really did enjoy reading your book, it's so well written and informative, detailing the ups and downs of your long journey fighting AML. A true inspiration to us all. You should be so proud of all your achievements whilst battling this awful illness."

"Thank you for sharing your very personal experience with AML. Your book is powerful, insightful, and a gift to all who read it. You truly have a gift for writing. Your experiences were so impactful and I found myself crying, but also feeling your humor. Not many have the ability to bring the reader into their world; if only briefly."

"I think you should be writing professionally. Its' an upbeat writing style regarding one of the most grueling experiences I have ever seen. I nursed for 15 years including oncology/bone marrow transplant at Addenbrookes. You are very accurate with the adult portrayal of medical procedures. Wish you good luck."

"I am not a consistent reader but this book had me mesmerized. I could not put it down. It was a sad, funny, and very interesting read."

"To say I enjoyed it would be an overstatement, who could actually enjoy reading about such a traumatic time for you, your family and close friends? You are without doubt a gifted writer, bringing alive the emotional rollercoaster you have been through. It is at times funny, always interesting and informative. I couldn't put it down sometimes and at others I simply had to. Thank you for sharing your journey with us."

"A brilliant, flowing fast paced book. It has it all; it is educational - describing symptoms of the disease and explaining medical terms - as well as telling Jake’s story. It is sad, but some parts make you laugh out loud and there are some messy, yucky descriptions too! It gives a real insight into what it’s like to be diagnosed with cancer, cancer treatment and how it is to stay on a hospital ward. A heartwarming, true narrative of how the individual, and their friends and family cope with a cancer diagnosis and their efforts to stay positive throughout.

When the book ended, I felt like we needed a sequel! Such a true, brave and inspiring young man, I want to know where Jake’s journey will take him next."

I literally have no words. Jake, we all knew what a tough time you were having, but you can multiply  that by 1000. No one understands fully what you went through. Reading this was heartbreaking, inspiring, and you are incredible!

Without reading the book, I and many others already know what an inspirational and wonderful young man you are!!!! But wow!! Reading your book makes me appreciate even more what you and your family have had to go through, and although it's unfair that any family has to suffer such things that you all have had to, you have written so eloquently and with humour about your battles and 'life building journey'. You and your family are a true inspiration to others! I hope others gain strength by your story. You really are amazing.
